Short Synopsis: Robyn, head of safety for a unionized henchman organization, is determined to create a safety video for her fellow henchmen. As the raid unfolds, the film crew captures it all, creating a mockumentary that explores the often-overlooked lives of henchmen. In the end, Robyn and the film crew survive the raid, but are left to face the consequences of their actions. Director Statement

Henchman directors Andrew Dickhout and Evan Forbes shooting the reshoots and additional photography for the short film mockumentary. Using the Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera
Henchman came from watching superhero movies. At first, seeing these heroes defeating the goons and henchmen seemed great, but then I questioned whether the henchmen were there for the cause or just to support their families. In this superhero-dominated market. I wanted people to have some sympathy for these workers who are just trying to pay their bills.

It was supposed to be a one-off YouTube skit, but my co-writer and director, Andrew, convinced me that this needs to be a feature film. Of course, we had a major uphill battle at the start of this project when we won the 2018 Pitchfest at the Forest City Film Festival.

2019 was the year of Henchman. We wrote this proof-of-concept short film, assembled the crew, cast our fantastic actors and shot it. 2020 we finished post-production but realized, we had to push more into the mockumentary style. Days later the pandemic hit, and for everyone’s health and safety, we pushed the reshoots. Despite the setback, we persevered and completed the film in 2023, and it’s better than ever.
